Website Wednesdays: Nasty Gal

The website I’m featuring this week is Nasty Gal. I adore the style of clothing, and I hadn’t heard about this site until recently. I could go crazy online shopping here. Enjoy!!

$18.00 @ Nasty Gal

I LOVE LOVE LOVE rings. They’re an easy way to accessorize, and I much prefer them over bracelets. Bracelets always get in my way, but if I could wear rings on every finger every day. Okay…maybe not every finger. But you get the point. I love the double finger rings, too. Slightly obsessed.

$22.00 @ Nasty Gal

Oh what do you know!? Another double finger ring… surprising right?

$28.00 @ Nasty Gal

AH!! I forgot how much I loved this ring. I love a good rock. Even though science is notttt my thing, I always enjoy geology because there are so many beautiful rocks… I know, what a nerd. But seriously. You can make some sick looking jewelry out of natural stones. Who knew?

$30.00 @ Nasty Gal

We all should know by now that I love a good tank. And the color gray. Look! We found two things I love in one top. BOOM!

$48.00 @ Nasty Gal

I love the new take on a classic favorite. I always love a good plaid flannel, but this sort of switches it up and makes it more interesting. I love the bare shoulders and the tie. I’m drooling. Want. Need. Must have. Goodness, no wonder I’m so broke.

$58.00 @ Nasty Gal

TRIBAL PRINT<3 Plus a gray sweatshirt. What an easy, cute look. Gawwwww.

$60.00 @ Nasty Gal

Wow, I should probably try to brighten my color palate at some point. Black, white, gray…. more tribal. I must be very predictable. But I still love this top.

$68.00 @ Nasty Gal

SURPRISE! MORE GRAY!!! Who’d have thought!? But it looks so comfy. And it seriously is just my style. I must add that I love her bag. Shit.

This is how I get myself into trouble. xoxoxooo

365 Project: A daily dose of KevenJacobs

This was what I wore to work today! Black top, black skinnies, and black wedges. But I wanted to showcase my accessories. I wore my teal necklace I bought from American Eagle (they have a lot of cute jewelry, by the way!!), my new (shhhh!) bracelets from Target, and a black belt to spice things up a bit!

Thank Goodness it’s Pay Day!

I’m so far behind, I didn’t even know where to start. So I decided to start with yesterday, my first PAY DAY at my new job! And holy crap, it felt good. I haven’t had extra cash in a few weeks, and relief washed over me when my father texted me and said “your paycheck came in the mail!” YESSS. It’s the first of many.

Now, this probably wasn’t my smartest decision. But, I haven’t been shopping in who KNOWS how long, and I was literally itching for new clothes. After depositing my check, I had to go to Target to pick up my prescription. And I thought, it couldn’t hurt to take a stroll through the clothing section. And even though I bought quite a few items…. IT DIDN’T HURT! Woohooooo!

So, here’s what I bought:

$16.99 @ Target

They also had this top in leopard print, and looking at it now, I might be regretting that I bought the plain gray. But oh well. I love this top either way!

After browsing through the clothing section, I wanted to see what Target’s shoes had to offer on Black Friday!

$29.99 @ Target

I didn’t plan on buying anything, but uhhhh I REALLY liked these shoes. And there was a deal for Black Friday, so I made them mine.. They sort of remind me of Robin Hood…. Don’t ask why; I couldn’t tell ya.

Then I decided I needed some new tights. I’ve been wanting some sheer black ones. So I made my way over to hosiery.

$10.00 @ Target

As you can see, those aren’t sheer. The one’s I bought were, and I thought they’d look great with a black dress, and my new booties!

I also wanted to check out the jewelry section…. I needed some new accessories.

$14.99 @ Target

Lovingggg this ring. I really like to wear rings, but I buy cheaper jewelry, so they end up turning my fingers green. But this ring is nickel-free … so my fingers stay my lovely pink skin tone. SCORE.

I also bought some teal feather earrings, that are super adorable, but I couldn’t find a picture online. They were $7.99, and I can’t WAIT to wear them. I’ll post a picture later!

Now, again, this may not have been the smartest way to spend a portion of my first paycheck, but I needed to CELEBRATEEE.

New Jewelry!

So I mentioned in my sister’s birthday post that we both bought jewelry at the Farmer’s Market in downtown Chandler. We found a lot of really cute jewelry stands there, and I thought I’d share them with you!

The first one we came across was where we bought our jewelry, and they call themselves Southwest Designs. Their contact information is loandnancy@aol.com, if you’re interested in their jewelry!

These are the earrings my sister bought! They’re copper, dipped in acid, for the turquoise color. I’m in love, and will be borrowing them. The color is amazingggg.

Thissss is the necklace I bought. It’s a blue crystal on an adjustable cord. I’ve been doing a little research on crystal healing after my friend Mara introduced me to some of her crystals and I find the topic to be veryyyy interesting. So when I saw this, naturally, I HAD to buy it. It catches light beautifully, and the rougher edges create rainbows, and it’s just amazing.

According to crystal-cure.com, the color blue represents youth, spirituality, truth and peace. It makes for a calming energy, something I’m always in need of. And “it allows us to look beyond and increase our perspective outward,” according to the above mentioned site. I loveee that. I definitely notice a more peaceful energy when I wear this necklace, and I’m interested in finding more gems, and making them into jewelry.

We also came across a stand for Uniquely Yours by Stephani, where they make gorgeous custom jewelry. The beads and the craftsmanship of their stuff is amazingggg.

The last stand I stumbled upon was called Jewelry Creations by Penny, and she makes jewelry with Swarovski crystals, and she makes everything from keychains to bracelets to earrings and necklaces. I will be checking back for more 😀

Her Style: Megan Jacobs

Hellooooo! So I had an idea… I’m going to start featuring people who have their own personal styles, that I’m inspired by. I absolutely love seeing people put together their own outfits that have a personal touch to them, and I really admire people who have their own style. I think that personal style is SOOO important. The way you present yourself says a lot about you.

So for my first style feature, I chose my sister. In honor of her 17th (Holy cow!!) birthday, this post is about her. She’s an amazing young woman; she’s intelligent, witty, gorgeous, and her own person. She doesn’t care about what other people think, something I really admire. She’s such an old soul, and one of my best friends.

I asked her if we could put together a post, so she chose three outfits, and we did a little shoot. Here’s what we came up with!:

Outfit #1:

This outfit is her more casual look. I love the way the gold necklace brings out the gold threading in the top. And I loveeee those sandals, I frequently borrow them (:

Outfit #2:

This is an outfit she put together for while the weather is starting to cool down. I’m a huge fan of textured tights. And the ‘dress’ is a men’s tank from American Apparel. I have one with a tribal looking print, and wearing it with a belt and textured tights makes for an adorable outfit…obviously!

Outfit #3:

I LOVE this outfit. Normally, I can’t do navy blue and black together, but I think the colors in this really work well together. I also love the simple accessories, and I think she looks adorableeee.

So, as I mentioned earlier, Meg’s birthday was Thursday night. She makes me feel like an old fart… But we had a really great night celebrating as a family.

My mom, dad, sister, her boyfriend and I all went out to eat at one of our favorite restaurants in Downtown Chandler called ‘El Zocalo.’ SO delicious. And I brought my cameraaaa.

We got to the restaurant, and there was a wait for the patio area, so we mingled through the farmer’s market that takes place every Thursday night in Downtown Chandler. My sister and I found a jewelry stand, and she bought copper earrings that had been dipped in acid, so they had turned turquoise. They’re BEAUTIFUL. And I bought a blue crystal necklace, which I’ll post pictures of later!

So, then we all ate. My sister, Aaron and I all ordered the Killer Chimichanga. Which definitely killed me… I was STUFFED. And then after dinner, we headed home for presents and cupcakes.

Here’s pictures of the night!:
