365 Project: A daily dose of KevenJacobs

This was taken on my ACTUAL birthday :-D. We went to San Felipe’s Cantina at Tempe Marketplace to continue the celebration. I went for sort of a pin-up look, with red lips, black and white dress, and red shoes. LOVE.

21st Birthday Ensemble Ideas

SO. I don’t know where it came from. But my birthday is only a week and a half away. It took forever for my 21st birthday to get here, and now it’s so close, I can almost taste the alcohol on my own breath. Ew. That was gross.

ANYWAYYY. I was supposed to take a road trip to see my lovely California friends, including my best, but unfortunately, I’ve decided to do it big in Arizona.

I’m a little nervous for the occasion, but excited nonetheless. It’s about freakin’ time.

I’ve been doing a little online window shopping to get some ideas for my birthday ensemble. But I’ve been having some trouble. I need something REALLY special, something that stands out. I have a few dresses in my closet for the weekend of my birthday, but I don’t have anything exciting enough to wear on the night of my 21st.

Here’s what I’ve found so far:

$19.80 @ Forever21

I always love Forever21. I can find literally anything there for really affordable prices. And broke college students like me, love the word ‘cheap.’ I like the color of this dress, and the one shoulder. I’m obviously gonna freeze my butt off no matter what I wear but I might as well look good doing it. I like this dress, but I think I could do better.

$19.80 @ Forever21

Another Forever21 find, but again, it’s a little simple for such a special occasion. I like to get super hyped about any of my birthdays, but come on! This is my 21st. It’s gonna be big! I like the lace cut out on this dress, but I still think I could find something more special….

$64.99 @ Modcloth

Modcloth has always been my number one stop for party dresses! They’re a little more pricey, but the quality of their clothing is great! And they have adorable stuff. I’m afraid this one may be a little too light for my complexion, but I LOVE the style. Super sexyyyy.

$72.99 @ Modcloth

For some reason, I’m really into the color teal right now. It’s always a good color on me, especially with my bluish green eyes, dark hair, and porcelain skin. Another one shouldered look, and I’m diggin the lace! If only the dress was still in stock… 😦

$74.99 @ Modcloth

Another Modcloth find, and another one shoulder style. I love the style of this dress, and the color’s adorable, but is it really birthday worthy? Hm… I think I’m gonna have to do a little more shopping for this occasion.

I’ll keep y’all posted. 🙂

Her Style: Megan Jacobs

Hellooooo! So I had an idea… I’m going to start featuring people who have their own personal styles, that I’m inspired by. I absolutely love seeing people put together their own outfits that have a personal touch to them, and I really admire people who have their own style. I think that personal style is SOOO important. The way you present yourself says a lot about you.

So for my first style feature, I chose my sister. In honor of her 17th (Holy cow!!) birthday, this post is about her. She’s an amazing young woman; she’s intelligent, witty, gorgeous, and her own person. She doesn’t care about what other people think, something I really admire. She’s such an old soul, and one of my best friends.

I asked her if we could put together a post, so she chose three outfits, and we did a little shoot. Here’s what we came up with!:

Outfit #1:

This outfit is her more casual look. I love the way the gold necklace brings out the gold threading in the top. And I loveeee those sandals, I frequently borrow them (:

Outfit #2:

This is an outfit she put together for while the weather is starting to cool down. I’m a huge fan of textured tights. And the ‘dress’ is a men’s tank from American Apparel. I have one with a tribal looking print, and wearing it with a belt and textured tights makes for an adorable outfit…obviously!

Outfit #3:

I LOVE this outfit. Normally, I can’t do navy blue and black together, but I think the colors in this really work well together. I also love the simple accessories, and I think she looks adorableeee.

So, as I mentioned earlier, Meg’s birthday was Thursday night. She makes me feel like an old fart… But we had a really great night celebrating as a family.

My mom, dad, sister, her boyfriend and I all went out to eat at one of our favorite restaurants in Downtown Chandler called ‘El Zocalo.’ SO delicious. And I brought my cameraaaa.

We got to the restaurant, and there was a wait for the patio area, so we mingled through the farmer’s market that takes place every Thursday night in Downtown Chandler. My sister and I found a jewelry stand, and she bought copper earrings that had been dipped in acid, so they had turned turquoise. They’re BEAUTIFUL. And I bought a blue crystal necklace, which I’ll post pictures of later!

So, then we all ate. My sister, Aaron and I all ordered the Killer Chimichanga. Which definitely killed me… I was STUFFED. And then after dinner, we headed home for presents and cupcakes.

Here’s pictures of the night!:

It’s the Freakin’ Weekendd….well, not anymore.

Alright, so first off, I’d like to apologize for my unanticipated absence. Let me just say that working 30 hours a week, taking two classes, homework, keeping up with the blog, and maintaining my social life is hard work! I barely have time to sleep.. and I’m ohhhh so tired. Juggling all of those things is definitely taking a toll, however, I feel like it shows great improvement on my part from where I was 6 months ago. Even 3 months ago. So congrats to me!!

But I would like to say I’m sorry; for not keeping up with this. This is my means of letting out my emotional baggage, my stresses, and talking/writing about my passion. I haven’t been spending much lately, which is why I’d like to let you guys into my personal life, and get to know ME.

I’m attempting to save money, and I’m getting better at only buying necessities, however, I’m not making enough to LIVE through two weeks, until my next paycheck. The financial stress is OVERWHELMING, and I’m at my wit’s end. It’s time for a higher paying job. Cross your fingers for me… more on this subject later.

Since I am hoping to let you guys into my personal life, I’d like to tell you a few of the eventful moments of my weekend:

FRIDAY, October 21st:

Friday night, I attended the 21st birthday party of my old friend Kaleb! It was in Tempe, and coming from Chandler, that’s a long drive for me. I don’t always have the time to make it that far, however, it was time to catch up with some old friends.

I went soloooo of course, ’cause that’s how I do. When I got there, I ran into my old friends Jason, Justin L., Ahmed, Mike K., Mikey, Sam, Tom, and Justin R. I wished Kaleb a ‘happy birthday’ and mingled around. Then my coworker/work bestie Joelle and her boyfriend, Justin H. (soooo many J’s) showed up and I was thrilled. I chatted with them, and then more old friends started showing up. Kim got there, then Mara and Lucas, Shannon and her boyfriend, and shortly after, miss Brandi made an appearance as well. Michael J. eventually got off work and joined us (which is a give-in, considering the party was thrown at his house). But eventually 2:00 AM rolled around, AKA my curfew, and I had to part ways with the Tempe gang.

Phew, that’s a long list of names…however, I thoroughly enjoyed seeing all my old friends, sharing memories, and laughing at old jokes.

We even took some pictures (or attempted to… I broke out my old Digital SLR, which no one apparently knows how to use, so the focus was off, and almost all the pictures came out blurry, unfortunately).

SATURDAY, October 22nd:

MY DAY OFF!! (insert sigh of relief here). And much needed. I slept ALL day. Up until 3:00ish… Which is not like me. But it felt SO GOOD. I had things I wanted to take care of, but seriously, I needed a break. I watched movies, laid around on the couch, ateeee, and then took a nap. What a perfect day off. Seriously.

Butttt Sunday morning was back to work, and reality.

Honestly, Sunday really sucked. I worked 8:30-1:30 PM, then went home, did homework, and had to go to a meeting for work at 7:30 PM. That lasted WAY too long. I don’t even wanna talk about it.

Anywhoooo, that was my weekend. Happy Monday everyone!
