New Jewelry!

So I mentioned in my sister’s birthday post that we both bought jewelry at the Farmer’s Market in downtown Chandler. We found a lot of really cute jewelry stands there, and I thought I’d share them with you!

The first one we came across was where we bought our jewelry, and they call themselves Southwest Designs. Their contact information is loandnancy@aol.com, if you’re interested in their jewelry!

These are the earrings my sister bought! They’re copper, dipped in acid, for the turquoise color. I’m in love, and will be borrowing them. The color is amazingggg.

Thissss is the necklace I bought. It’s a blue crystal on an adjustable cord. I’ve been doing a little research on crystal healing after my friend Mara introduced me to some of her crystals and I find the topic to be veryyyy interesting. So when I saw this, naturally, I HAD to buy it. It catches light beautifully, and the rougher edges create rainbows, and it’s just amazing.

According to crystal-cure.com, the color blue represents youth, spirituality, truth and peace. It makes for a calming energy, something I’m always in need of. And “it allows us to look beyond and increase our perspective outward,” according to the above mentioned site. I loveee that. I definitely notice a more peaceful energy when I wear this necklace, and I’m interested in finding more gems, and making them into jewelry.

We also came across a stand for Uniquely Yours by Stephani, where they make gorgeous custom jewelry. The beads and the craftsmanship of their stuff is amazingggg.

The last stand I stumbled upon was called Jewelry Creations by Penny, and she makes jewelry with Swarovski crystals, and she makes everything from keychains to bracelets to earrings and necklaces. I will be checking back for more 😀

Her Style: Megan Jacobs

Hellooooo! So I had an idea… I’m going to start featuring people who have their own personal styles, that I’m inspired by. I absolutely love seeing people put together their own outfits that have a personal touch to them, and I really admire people who have their own style. I think that personal style is SOOO important. The way you present yourself says a lot about you.

So for my first style feature, I chose my sister. In honor of her 17th (Holy cow!!) birthday, this post is about her. She’s an amazing young woman; she’s intelligent, witty, gorgeous, and her own person. She doesn’t care about what other people think, something I really admire. She’s such an old soul, and one of my best friends.

I asked her if we could put together a post, so she chose three outfits, and we did a little shoot. Here’s what we came up with!:

Outfit #1:

This outfit is her more casual look. I love the way the gold necklace brings out the gold threading in the top. And I loveeee those sandals, I frequently borrow them (:

Outfit #2:

This is an outfit she put together for while the weather is starting to cool down. I’m a huge fan of textured tights. And the ‘dress’ is a men’s tank from American Apparel. I have one with a tribal looking print, and wearing it with a belt and textured tights makes for an adorable outfit…obviously!

Outfit #3:

I LOVE this outfit. Normally, I can’t do navy blue and black together, but I think the colors in this really work well together. I also love the simple accessories, and I think she looks adorableeee.

So, as I mentioned earlier, Meg’s birthday was Thursday night. She makes me feel like an old fart… But we had a really great night celebrating as a family.

My mom, dad, sister, her boyfriend and I all went out to eat at one of our favorite restaurants in Downtown Chandler called ‘El Zocalo.’ SO delicious. And I brought my cameraaaa.

We got to the restaurant, and there was a wait for the patio area, so we mingled through the farmer’s market that takes place every Thursday night in Downtown Chandler. My sister and I found a jewelry stand, and she bought copper earrings that had been dipped in acid, so they had turned turquoise. They’re BEAUTIFUL. And I bought a blue crystal necklace, which I’ll post pictures of later!

So, then we all ate. My sister, Aaron and I all ordered the Killer Chimichanga. Which definitely killed me… I was STUFFED. And then after dinner, we headed home for presents and cupcakes.

Here’s pictures of the night!:
